Welcome to Our New Priest-In-Charge, the Rev. Dr. Paul R. Kolbet!
Joyous news! The Wardens and Vestry of St. Peter’s are excited to announce that, after a long search, the Rev. Dr. Paul R. Kolbet has been appointed as Priest-In-Charge to St. Peter’s by Bishop Gates, with the unanimous consent of the Vestry. Paul impressed us with his warmth, intelligence, energy, and dedication to the needs of his parishioners, as well as the community-at-large.
Paul will begin his role on September 3rd and his first celebration of Eucharist will be on September 8th for our Welcome Back Sunday event.
A little bit about Paul -- he was ordained to the priesthood in 1996, and has served several congregations in our area, including Chelmsford, Natick, Newton, and Medway. Since 2022, he has served as Interim Rector at St. Paul’s in Brookline.
Paul studied for the priesthood at Yale Divinity School and then went on to earn a Ph.D. in theology at the University of Notre Dame. In addition to his parish work, Paul has a rich academic background, having taught at the University of Notre Dame, Boston College, and Yale Divinity School. Paul is a recognized expert early Christian spiritual practices, psychology, and pastoral strategies. Paul and his wife, Amy, live in Wellesley. They have one adult daughter, Chloe.
We hope you will join us in offering a warm welcome to Paul when he arrives in September!
